Writ of plenius certiorari to the escheator to enquire whether the moiety of the manor of Meushagh, co. Devon, is held in socage as contained in the inquisition, whereby Isabel late the wife of the said Simon seeks the same as next (friend) of the heir, or by service of a knight’s fee, as is asserted on behalf of Baldwin le Flemeng, 6 May, 35 Edw. I. [1307]
Endorsed: Baldwin le Flemyng being warned sent his bailiff, but did not come in person.
Inq. taken at Soutmolton, 12 June, 35 Edw. I. [1307]
The said moiety of the manor of Meuschaue is held in socage of the said Baldwin; Archibald le Flemyng gave it to Roges son of Simon with Rose (Rosea) his daughter in free marriage, to them and the heirs of their bodies.
